Hi, I’m Samy!
I’m an Associate Creative Director based in NYC.
I specialize in graphic and motion design, and have experience overseeing production teams for both video and photography. No matter what the medium, I am driven by the ability to use creativity to craft stories and make connections, whether that’s through reaching an audience or potential customer, rallying people around a cause, or strengthening a team through collaboration.
I was born in California, raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, and have spent most of my adult life in New York City. Having attended Jakarta International School where the student body consisted of about 90 nationalities, the importance of diversity and multiple perspectives has been instilled in me from a young age. I received a BA in Advertising at Pepperdine University, and further honed my design skills at the Shillington School in Manhattan.
Pre-COVID, I enjoyed trying new restaurants (particularly all the noodle shops NYC has to offer with a group of friends called #NoodzClub), having my breath taken away by a live performance on and off Broadway, or making a fool of myself doing Karaoke.
These days, I fill my spare time tinkering on the guitar or keyboard, participating in #the100DayProject, trying to keep my plants alive, leveling up in the kitchen, looking forward to the thrilling adventure that is the grocery store outing, and winding down with low stakes television like Terrace House, The Great British Baking Show, and Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast.
